She attended local schools and graduated from Kennebunkport High School in 1947. She worked in various stitching jobs at Kesslen Shoe and ALB Company.
Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ralph, across the United States and Canada with Maine Line Bus Tours. A trip that she spoke of often was the trip they took to Alaska with a truck camper. They explored Denali National Park, Anchorage and Valdez along with multiple sightings of wildlife. She had fond memories of the time spent with friends camping at Moody's Island Campground in Damariscotta and family gatherings at their camp on Cambolasse Pond in Lincoln, Maine. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
