Marie Christine Perry 32, of Milwaukee. Marie was born in Ohio on February 9, 1987 and passed into the arms of God February 3, 2020.

Marie is survived by her loving mom Tamara K. Perry and brother Ross Perry of Norwalk, Ohio, and loving dad John K. Perry (wife Tammy Lynn) of Vermilion, Ohio. Preceded in death by grandparents Paul Kubishke & Hazel Gano Kubishke from Vermilion, Ohio and grandparents John & Rose Maggard Perry of Leburn, Kentucky. Further survived by uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. Marie will be greatly missed by her cats, Socrates and Brett Favre.

Marie came to Wisconsin to attend Lakeland University, graduating in 2010. She taught at Milwaukee Public Schools in the area of exceptional education. A career change lead Marie to become a Certified Peer Specialist and employed at La Causa, Inc. Marie was greatly inspired by the work that she did. As a result, she enrolled in graduate school at Northern Vermont University where she was working toward a master's degree in counseling. She specifically wanted to work with children and adolescents with mental health issues.

In November 2019, Marie received the Rising Leader Award from the Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force. Marie had strong community ties as an actor in Pieces In My Own Voice, a theatrical production depicting the lives of people living with a mental health diagnosis. Marie portrayed a person living with an anxiety disorder. She also was a member of the Steering Committee for the Mental Health Task Force, member of the Peer Learning Collaborative and a trainer for peer specialists for the state of Wisconsin.

Marie enjoyed taking dance lessons as a little girl. She played the oboe and clarinet in school. Marie was a successful soccer player in high school. Marie's joyful spirit continued into adulthood. Marie loved to have fun, always coming up with unique activities. She was a member of a book club and a fish fry club. Her book club was an adventurous group that did a variety of things like an outing to the shooting range and an upcoming concert to see Ozzy Osbourne. She stopped at all historical markers when traveling, enjoyed day trips, swimming, country music and playing fantasy football. Two of her favorite things were the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin State Fair.

Marie was a kind and gentle spirit.

In lieu of flowers, Marie requested donations to Community Advocates - Autumn West Safe Haven (communityadvocates.net), and St. Ben's Community Meal (capuchincommuityservices.org).

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 14th 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of Marie's life at 11:00 a.m.
