Oleta June Johns, 89, of Ozark passed away on Tuesday October 4, 2022 at Ozark Nursing and Care Center. June was born on August 5, 1933 in Cape Fair, Missouri, the daughter of Aaron and Inez (Carney) Starnes. The family moved to California where June graduated from High School. June's working career included several years at Ozark City Hall. After retirement she was active at the Ozark Senior Center, and served as a board member. June was a member of First Baptist Church in Ozark for over 45 years. She loved her Sunday School Class and attended regularly until her health failed. Her hobbies included crocheting and crossword puzzles, and June was an avid reader. Survivors include Four children, Linda Shelton and husband Joe of Springfield, Missouri, Charles McHenry and wife Jolene of Windsor, Colorado, Carl Johns and wife Elisabeth of France, and Cathy Hodges and husband Carl of Manhattan, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, a son Keith McHenry, and her sister Virginia Mullis. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, October 10th at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dr. Phillip Burden officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Following cremation, burial will be in Seymour (Missouri) City Cemetery.
