Judith "Judi" Christa (In't Veld- Owens) Dingeman entered into eternal peace early September 30, 2022. Judi was born May 23, 1938, in Pella, Iowa, the daughter of Elsie and Arnoldus In't Veld. Judi grew up in Pella and graduated from Pella High School where she divided her time diving, baton twirling, and shooting hoops.

Judi and Eddie "Ed" Owens tied the knot in 1956, and to this union, three children were born, Michael "Mike", Michelle, and Cynthia. Judi was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and spent much of her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judi retired from the Des Moines Water Works after more than twenty years of dedicated service. She reentered the workforce at Moss Distributing, as it would've taken a force of nature to keep her in retirement. Tenacious and trailblazing, Judi was one of the first female school bus drivers in Des Moines. Judi will be remembered as an impeccable driver, and rumor has it, she didn't have an accident to her name.

We're not counting that one time she bonked a parked motorcycle in the Outback parking lot.

In 1997, she married her high school sweetheart Paul Dingeman and returned to Pella after honeymooning in the Caribbean. Judi loved to travel and drove across the country on many occasions to visit family. With pride in her Dutch heritage, she even traveled to the Netherlands with her mom visiting extended family and exploring the colorful fields of tulips. Judi also took many autumnal trips with her grandson and his camera chasing the changing colors of the Midwest.

Judi had a Pella kelly-green thumb with impressive flower and vegetable gardens outside and houseplants older than dirt inside. With no fear, she successfully defended her plants from menacing moles and their frightening claws with just a lawn hose and a shovel. Judi also enjoyed hunting mushrooms in the timber then frying them up in the kitchen. She was a master of peanut brittle, queen of caramel, her royal highness of the rainbow layered Jell-O, and no one made a taller angel food cake.

If you never had Dingo's Layered Jell-O, did you even know her?

G-money's wrapping was unmatched. Her packages were like works of art, and there was no greater artist than Judi. No one gave more selflessly and joyfully. It didn't even have to be a holiday for Judi to give. On more than one occasion, she gifted the shoes off her feet upon compliment, leaving barefoot and smiling. Judi also gave her time generously volunteering at the Pella Hospital giftshop and teaching Sunday school.

Judi, was a Jack of all trades with many hobbies and talents including playing the organ, singing, baking, gardening, crafting, cooking, sewing, and archery. She loved watching basketball and tennis on the tv screen and deer and tree frogs through the window screen. It also mustn't go unrecognized that Grandma Judi gave a mean perm and the best kitchen cuts both sides of the Mississippi. Grandma "Grams" Judi was adored for her ability to make any pancake shape requested by her grandchildren during a sleepover.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Mike Owens (Pegger Owens); daughters Michelle Lane and Cynthia Dorsey; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members. Along with her parents, Judi was preceded in death by her first husband Ed Owens and her second husband Paul Dingeman; her brother Arnold "Butch" In't Veld; her sister Marlene "Markie" In't Veld- Beck; her aunt Margaret Den Ouden; uncles Jacob and Gilbert; nephew Scott Beck, and her beloved schnauzer Tina.

Judi was an undeniably loving, protective, supportive, creative, clever, resilient, independent, dependable, wonderful, beautiful person inside and out.
