Ms. Betty Lou Beaver, 71, of 910 St. Clair St., Hagerstown, died Friday, March 30, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Aug. 11, 1929, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Foster Hezekiah Sr. and Matilda Viola Marshall Blickenstaff.

She retired in 1994 from Washington County Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse for 44 years.

She was a member of Morris Frock Post American Legion Post Ladies' Auxiliary, Washington County Hospital Bowling League and Ladies' Bowling League, Baer Travel Club, Foltz Travel Club and American Association of Retired Persons.

She is survived by two sisters, Joanna E. Biser of Hummelstown, Pa., and Kathleen R. Keckler of Waynesboro; a brother, James W. Powell Jr. of Frederick, and Savannah, Ga.; one niece; six nephews; and nine great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Foster H. Blickenstaff Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 2 at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward L. Poling will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, 15 S. Mulberry St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
