After high school, Charlotte's journey led her to two different Mikes, Mooney and Woods. These separate unions led to the births of her two sons, Shawn and Matt. Charlotte's love for children did not stop at her own, as evidenced by a career at Oktaha Public Schools that spanned over 30 years, which resulted in a vast multitude of children throughout those years that became extremely fond of her and her ever present smile. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending women's bible study at Checotah Church of Christ where she was a member for over 40 years.
