Vickie Jan Ballew, Altus resident, passed away peacefully at her home on September 29, 2022. She was 70 years old at the time of her death.

Vickie was born in Dallas, Texas on January 15, 1952 to her parents, Newburn Key Ballew and Frances Jean Ballew (Reed). She grew up in Pecos, Texas and Van Horn, Texas, where she graduated high school. She had also lived in New Braunfels, Texas for a while.

Vickie worked as a sales manager and supervisor for mobile homes and H-D Supply. Outside of work, Vickie enjoyed reading, singing, playing games and spending time with her family and friends. She mostly loved simply being "Nana" to her beloved grandchildren and their friends.

On a deeper level, Vickie was an extremely caring and friendly person. She was a woman of strong faith and was active in the women's bible studies at the Oakwood Baptist Church where she was a member. Her natural beauty and sweet spirit will be forever remembered by all who knew her.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents, Newburn and Frances Ballew.

Left to honor her everlasting memory are her daughter, Heather Helin (Justin); her brother: Ron Ballew (Jan); her sister: Judy Ballew; her grandchildren: Kaydee Stephenson (Joseph) and Jamin Helin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and church family.
