Family records show she was born in Wise Co., TX, but her obituary shows Upshur Co., TX. I am currently trying to confirm which is correct.

Obituary:
From the April 30, 1953 Gotebo Record:

Mrs. Texas Furgerson Davis was born Feb. 23, 1870 in Upsher Co. TX and died April 25, 1953 at her home in Gotebo. She was united in marriage to John T. Davis in 1889 and eight children were born to the union. She came to western Oklahoma from Texas in 1897 and settled north of Gotebo and moved to town in 1914. She was preceded in death by four children. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Gotebo.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Penn of Gotebo; three sons, Cluster of Hobart, Marion of Chickasha, Roy of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mrs. Murry Elrod of Sunset TX, Mrs Meedy Shortes of Knott TX, Mrs. Fannie Glass of Dallas TX; one brother, Albert Furgerson of Sulpher, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
