He was born June 26, 1947 in Terre Haute, Ind., the son of Warren and Imogene (Martin) Norton.
He married Pamela Gregg, and she survives.
Allen will be dearly missed by his wife, Pamela Norton; children, Julia Norton, Pam Cheuvront, Gena (Patrick) Hegemann, Troy (Nikki) Norton, William (Carrie) Nabors, Sarah (Luis) Valdez, Heather (Anthony) Maser and Lawson Norton; siblings, Paul (Donna) Norton, Glen (Ellen) Norton, Linda (Larry) Simpson and Herb (Teresa) Norton; grandchildren, Ronni, Rhonda and Ryan Coburn, Brittany, Levi and Travis McDaniel, Trenton and Maryah Norton, Chevy and Natalie Kruger, Demetrius Flemons, Ella Nabors, Savannah, Olivia, Charity and Troy Allen Norton, Evan and Lexi Valdez, Aelora Madlem, Adara, Piper Heiser; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kimberly Norton; and two great-grandchildren.
Allen was a millwright at General Motors, where he retired. After GM, he kept busy working at Chemcast, Rambler Ridge in Attica and running his own upholstery shop. Allen was a hard worker, loyal to his family, loved his grandchildren and loved to cook.
A celebration of Allen's life will be at 1 p.m. EDT Monday, September 30, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, 420 3rd St., Covington, IN 47932, with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. EDT prior to the service at the funeral home.
