Robert Dee Wilding
September 16, 1939 - July 7, 2022

Robert Dee Wilding passed away on July 7, 2022 in St George, Utah. He was born September 16, 1939, the son of Harry O and Bertha Rena Mauch Wilding. Bob was raised in Sugar City, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah. As a young man he loved fishing and spending time outdoors. Along with his brother, Gregg, he helped work on the family farm.

After graduating from Olympus High School, he married Joan Gallacher in 1960 and they were the parents of Dan, Dennis and Lori; later divorcing.

On December 26, 1972 he married Moira Seagrave Atwood. Together they loved traveling with friends, boating at Lake Powell, fishing in Idaho and exploring the world from the driver's seat of a jeep. As much as Bob loved people, his dogs were some of his favorite companions and brought him so much joy.

He made a successful career as a salesperson and manager in the furniture business; working at RC Willey Home Furnishings, Granite Furniture, and Boulevard Home Furnishings. He was always active and up for an adventure. He spent time biking, hang-gliding, golfing and growing a garden.

Bob and Moira eventually settled in St George, Utah, where they were close to the Red Rocks and desert trails they loved. There he enjoyed showing his children and grandchildren some of the back roads and geographical treasures he had discovered. The little kids all loved to pile into the back of Grandpa's jeep and go for a ride. He was a talented carpenter, auto mechanic and all-around tinkerer. Using his woodworking skills, he helped his sons start the furniture manufacturing business, Wilding Wallbeds.

Bob made friends with people everywhere he went. One of the most quoted statements his children have heard in his final years was, "Bob is my favorite!"

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and Moira, who he deeply missed. He is survived by his children: Dan (Claudia) Wilding, Dennis (Nanci) Wilding, Lori May; grandchildren: Braxten, Cami, Melissa, Courtney, Blake, Ashley, Amanda, Brandon, Caden and Tyler; 21 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Gregg (Marlene) Wilding; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Pine View Mortuary, 566 N Mall Dr., St George, Utah.
