Emma Frances Gile was born to Stephen Gile Memorial ID 15780368, and Anna Sally Miller Gile Memorial ID 96956341 in Milford, NY on 1 November 1892, and died on 19 March 1985, i Bronxville, NY..
She married Willard Thomas Davenport Me4morial ID 110526632 (buried in Schuyler Lake Cemetery, Schuyler Lake, NY. in 1910. Willard and Frances had two children, Harriet Elizabeth Davenport (married Robert Daniel Corbett in 1936 in Mt. Vernon, NY) Memorial ID 110527146 (also buried in the Schuyler Lake Cemetery in the Davenport plot), b. 17 March 1912 McDonough, NY d. 29 June 1996 Milwaukee, WI., and Grace Louise Davenport (married Earl Washburn), b. 16 November 1915 Greene, NY, d. 16 November 19 2003, Bronxville, NY., buried in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY)
Emma Frances was evidently separated from Willard Davenport for some time, since she married Charles Wintjen in March of 1939, after Willard died the previous month. She appears not to have used the name Emma after Willard Davenport's death in February 1939, and probably some time before that.
Frances and Charles Wintjen seemed to be a good match. Whn I knew her, my grandmother was a housewife, and Charlie was a butcher for A&P supermarkets until his retirement. My father called her "Frank," and said she was advant garde, and one of the first women to learn how to drive a car. After Charlie retired, they "fipped" partially built new houses, loong before it was trendy. They were living in Fishkill, NY, when Charlie died in 1978. Charles Wintjen was born in 1902. Nana lived near my mother Harriet Corbett in Wisconsin, and then moved in with Aunt Grace Washburn in Valhalla, NY until her death in 1985.
