She was born October 7, 1946 in Commerce, TX to Wilson Irby Turrentine and Lillian Lavina Quattlebaum Turrentine.
She was a 1965 graduate of Commerce High School and a 1968 graduate of East Texas State University. She had a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English. In 1971 she earned a Library of Science Degree.
She was employed with ECISD and worked at Pease, Burleson and Blanton Elementaries as a teacher and librarian.
Neta is survived by her husband of 54 years, Garland E. Tiner, Jr.; sons, James Tiner and wife Priscilla and Kyle Tiner and wife Marissa; sisters, Doug and Zona Ruth Covington and Glenice Turner. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four nephews and six nieces.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 at 9 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Lynn Money officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's, Shriner Hospital or The Texas Lions Camp.
