Joseph passed away on September 22, 2022, in Spokane, WA. He was born in Omaha, NE, on Aug. 19, 1941. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Darlene. They were married on June 1, 1976. Brother Robert J. (Karen) and sister, Mary I (Raymond) Greppi. He was predeceased by his parents, August J. and Irene M. Stock; brother, August J., and his daughter, Patricia Marie. Joseph graduated from South High School (Omaha, NE) in June 1959, and enlisted in the US Air Force on June 25, 1959. He had tours of duty in Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, The Philippine Islands, England, and Italy, as well as several assignments in the United States. Joseph retired from the Air Force on March 1, 1991, as a Chief Master Sergeant with 31 years and 8 months of service. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medal, Air Force Commendation Medals, Air Force and Army Good Conduct Medals as well as other awards and citations. After retirement from the Air Force, he spent 12 years working for the US Postal service before retiring in August 2006. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace following a graveside service with military honors on October 6, 2022 at 1430. Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane, WA is in charge of arrangements.
