STOBTOWN -- Services for Biggs L. McClennahan, 97, Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Stobtown Baptist Church with the Rev. David Gardner and the Rev. W.C. Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.

Mr. McClennahan was born Feb. 4, 1904, at Lamar, Ark., to James T. and Ona Womack McClennahan. He died April 10, 2001, in the local hospital.

A resident of this area most of his life, he was an oil field worker for Southerland Well Service and was a charter member of Stobtown Baptist Church. He and his wife Artie were married Jan. 5, 1931, in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his wife on Aug. 16, 2000; a daughter, Lois J. Gardner; four sisters; and a great-granddaughter, Brandi Mize.

Survivors include sons, Rhoton B. McClennahan, Lone Grove, and Finis L. McClennahan of Clarksville, Ark.; a daughter, Ina Ruth Mize of Ardmore; a son-in-law, Gilbert Gardner of Lone Grove; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Kenneth Mize, Rennie Gardner, Nubbin McClennahan, Greg DeBerry, David Lynn Gardner and Brian Gardner. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Griffin Funeral Home.
