Lewis Cecil (L.C.) Hobbs passed away at the age of 97 on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Mr. Hobbs was born on August 30, 1925 and was a lifelong resident of Midland.

He attended Midland High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Beckham.

Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife of nearly 74 years, Evelyn Caffey Hobbs and three children: Elaine Kasprzyk and husband Gary of Pontotoc, TX, Bill Hobbs and wife Liz of Midland, and Nancy Davis and husband Wayne of Fort Worth. Additional family members include four grandchildren: Brandon Moore, Kayla Oestreich, Trey Davis, and Emily Davis, along with seven great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Mr. Hobbs was employed at the Midland Map Company for several decades, with much of that time spent as manager of the reproduction department.

He was a hard worker, loved horses, and found great enjoyment in working outdoors around his property.

The family would like to express gratitude to caretakers Alicia Aranda and Rita Sutton, medical consultant Brooke Pinones, and Cristina and staff at the Midland Medical Lodge.

A graveside service for Mr. Hobbs will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Resthaven Memorial Park located at 4616 N. Big Spring Street, preceded by a visitation time on Thursday, September 29, 2022, 5:00-7:00 pm, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
