Winter Haven, FL - Sandra Joan (Adams) Cyr of Hampton Falls, NH and Winter Haven, Fla passed away Friday January 24, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.
Born August 8, 1938 in Newburyport, Sandra lived in Amesbury, most of her life until moving to Hampton Falls, NH in 2015. Sandra also enjoyed wintering in Winter Haven, FL with her husband Richard since 2006.
Sandra is a graduate of Amesbury High School class of 1956 and Bridgewater State College in 1960. Sandra married Richard E. Cyr July 15, 1961. She taught 2nd grade at Groveland Elementary School in the early 1960's. In later years after her children graduated from high school, she was an activities director at Amesbury Nursing and Retirement Home and The Stevens Bennet Home, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Main Street Congregational Church in Amesbury where she enjoyed volunteering at the thrift shop. Her favorite hobbies included reading, arts and crafts, and playing cards.
Sandra is the daughter of the late Samuel T. and Sera M. (Stebbins) Adams. She is survived by husband, Richard E. Cyr; daughter, Denise E. Johonnett of Hampton Falls; son, Scott R. Cyr (Nancy) of Boise, ID, and two grandchildren Hunter R. Cyr and Bretta L. Cyr. Sandra was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tony Johonnett and grandson, Logan Johonnett.
A celebration service will be held at the Carefree Country Club in Winter Haven on March 20th and another service TBD in June at Paul Rogers Funeral Home, Amesbury when she will be put to rest in the Bartlett Cemetery in Amesbury.
