East Wenatchee - May E. Smith, 70, a 26-year resident of North Central Washington, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at Highline Convalescent Center, East Wenatchee.
She was born April 21, 1927, near Denver, Colo., the daughter of Harry and Iva (McDonald) Flagg. She moved with her family to Caldwell, Idaho, at an early age.
Later, she moved briefly to Houston, Texas, before moving to Flagstaff, Ariz., where she resided for several years. In 1971, she moved to the Wenatchee Valley.
On Sept. 2, 1972, she was married to John Smith, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They resided at Wenatchee until 1984, when they moved to Lake Chelan. In 1992, they moved to Entiat.
Survivors include her husband, John, of the home in Entiat; a son, Edward Wright, of Cashmere; four brothers, Ray Flagg, of Oceanside, Fla., Charles and Jess Flagg, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Elmer Flagg of Irvine, Calif.; a sister, Gladys Goodnight, of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel.
