Beattyville - Mrs. Rosa Lee Howell, 69, widow of Colman Howell, died Wednesday at the Estill County Hospital in Irvine. She was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sons, James and Paul Howell, Beattyville; three daughters, Mrs. Clarice Wills, Jonesboro, Ill.; Mrs. Udell Bowman, Beattyville, and Mrs. Phyllis Treadway, Heidelberg; three brothers, M. L. Smallwood, Beattyville; Allen Smallwood, Tanner, Ala., and Jimmy Smallwood, Peru, Ind.; two half-brothers, Jesse Smallwood of Connecticut and Elmo Smallwood with the U.S. Army in Germany; a half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Harding, Lee City, Tex.; 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Theresa Catholic Church by the Rev. John Werner. Burial will be in the Howell Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the Newnam Funeral Home.
