Reared and educated in Amity, Arkansas, he had been a resident of Malvern since 1952. He was the widower of the late Ruby Lee Garner Doss, to whom he was married on December 28, 1950, in Amity. In 1957, they opened Doss Garage, a business which is still family owned and operated. Ruby preceded him in death on September 10, 2020. Manuel was a member and longtime deacon of First Baptist Church in Malvern, where he attended the Salzman Sunday School Class. A former member of the Cooper Hunting Club, Manuel was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and doted on his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
His survivors include his sons, Ricky Doss and his wife, Theresa, and Dennis Doss and his wife, Sherri; grandchildren, Jennifer Burks (Andy), Amy Clements (Jeremy), Wendy Folds (J. R.), Sara Baker (Chad), John Doss (Monique), Staci Allen (Chris), Sheena Doss, and Skyler Doss; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and his son-in-law, Bob Williams.
Manuel was also preceded in death by 14 siblings; his daughter, Diane Doss Williams; and great-grandson, Bo Dillon Kidder.
Visitation will be from one until two o'clock Friday afternoon, September 30, 2022, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service in Rest Haven Cemetery at Central, beginning at two-thirty o'clock, officiated by Brother Billy Bartlett.
Pallbearers will be: John Doss, Patrick Doss, Skyler Doss, Devin Clements, Andrew Edwards, Andy Burks, Chris Allen, and Chad Baker.
Memorials are requested to the Children's ministry at First Baptist Church, 531 S. Main St. Malvern, Arkansas 72104.
