George William Pape, 93, died peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

George was born on December 30, 1928, to the late George William and Modeste Rosique Pape of Pensacola, FL. He attended Sacred Heart Cathedral School and Catholic High School. He served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War from 1950-1952. He graduated from Pensacola State College and began his accounting career at Newport Industries. His career took him to Gadsden, AL where he worked for General Time, and he especially enjoyed his role at American Export in New York City at 26 Broadway. He returned to his hometown, Pensacola, to work for Dyson Construction Company and then spent 18 years as the Vice President of Key Ford.

George is preceded in death by his parents, George William Pape and Modeste Rosique Pape; and siblings, Cecile Mary Pape Smith, Clarence Martin Pape, John Edward Pape, Julia Edna Pape Bailey, and Modeste Pape.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 67 years, Pearl Richerson Pape of Pensacola, FL; two children, Cynthia Austad (Craig) and Keith Pape (Lianne); grandchildren, Colin Austad, Kiersten Jarvis (Brandon), and Josh Pape (Kay); three precious great grandchildren, Parker, Sloan, and Ava; and beloved puppy, Casey.

Everyone who knew George felt his kind and loving nature. He was the consummate gentleman, known for his quick wit and his love of God and his family. The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for their compassionate care during George's short stay. They would also like to thank all of their family and friends for their support and prayers.

Visitation will be held 1-3pm Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:30am Monday, October 3, 2022, at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church, 9945 Hillview Dr., with Fr. Hank Lech celebrant. Private family interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
