A very sad death occurred in this city at 2 o'clock yesterday morning, when Mrs. Mary J. Staley, wife of Mr. Fleet E. Staley, died at her residence, West Fourth street, leaving an infant less than 24 hours old. Mrs. Staley was 32 years old. She was formerly a Miss Hedges and in this city and county, in fact wherever she was known, she was greatly beloved and admired. Her funeral took place today at 2 p.m., interment being made in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Echbach officiated, assisted by Rev. Dr. Diehl. The pall bearers were Jacob F. Schmidt, Richard Hogan, Murray Gittinger, Geo. S. Rhodock, Warren Tyson, and Lewis Lipps. C. C. Carty, undertaker.
