Christine Meeks, 100, departed from this life Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Westworth Church of Christ, 5728 White Settlement Road, Mr. George Gray officiating. Interment: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Christine was born Feb. 5, 1907, in Paducah to John Harve and Ellen Williams. She moved to Fort Worth in 1955 to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ for 50 years. She retired from the Fort Worth ISD in 1972.
Our "Mamaw" was truly "the wind beneath our wings," and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Meeks; her parents, John Harve and Ellen Williams; her children, Kenneth Meeks, Nadine Goin, Geraldine Mohler, Ellen Meeks, Harvey Meeks, Jack Meeks and Phyllis Whitecotton; two grandsons, Jackie Goin of Arizona and Ronnie Mohler of Amarillo; and siblings, Buford Williams, Tince Williams, Doc Williams, Ollie Dee Richter and John Harve Williams Jr.
Survivors: Grandchildren, Ulis Whitecotton and wife, Tonya, of Weatherford, Glenda Darnell of Lakeside, Susie Bartholow and husband, Richard, of Lakeside, Teena Mason and husband, Randy, of Springtown, Don Meeks and wife, Judy, of Fort Worth, Charles Meeks and wife, Sally, of Colleyville, Nada Pharmakis of Fort Worth and James Goin and wife, Angie, of Fort Worth; 22 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; special daughter-in-law, Margaret Meeks of Grapevine; and special son-in-law, Darnell Whitecotton and wife, Tommie, of Springtown.
