His Body Laid To Rest In Savannah Cemetery
Savannah, GA, April 8 - Special-
With a simple service the remains of Col. Edward C. Wade,
"the Wade who never seceded" who at one time was one of
the wealthiest merchants of Savannah and who was a picturesque
character during the Civil War, were laid to rest this afternoon
in Laurel Grove Cemetery beside his wife, who died here many
years ago.
The remains of Col. Wade arrived from New Orleans, where he died
Wednesday when en route to Cocoa, Fla., from his home Los Angeles, Cal.
Accompanying the remains was Mr. Lawton Wade a son of the deceased
and a prominent business man of Los Angeles. Col. Wade left
Savannah in 1885, after having served here as collector of internal revenue.
