Hiram Lilly Murray was born to James Dugan Murray and Mary Ann Reese. The family moved from NC where his grandfather James Murray (Rev. War soldier)lived.This was near Henderson, NC. Hiram Murray was nephew to Lily Murray McCarrell .The Murrays and (McCarrells) traveled to Missouri. After living in Morgan Co. Missouri for a while they decided to move to Texas as they were Southern Sympathisers.They moved to Texas and Hiram moved with them. His middle name Lilly was named for his Aunt Lilly Murray McCarroll. The reason for his death is not known but he was very young. His grave is the oldest known stone in Basin Springs Cemetery. His father and Mother stayed in Morgan County. Ive cleaned it a couple times. Still can't figure out what he died of.
