James Samuel Hill, age 61 years, died at the city hospital this morning at 2:40 o'clock as the result of a broken neck sustained last Tuesday. At that time, Mr. Hill fell from a load of hay hitting in the barn lot. The fall dislocated a vertebrae (neck) causing paralysis. From his home in New Hope immediately following the accident, he was brought to the hospital here where he has lingered until this time. Mr. Hill was a highly respected farmer of New Hope.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Hill; four sons, John W., Fred, Robert, and Joe, all of Owens Cross Roads; four daughters, Olean Hill, Mrs. Grady Tabor, Mrs. Wright Maples and Mrs. Washington Scroggins; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Cleek of Oklahoma.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. by Elder Boss Ellett at the Hayden Cemetery near New Hope where interment will take place. Laughlin and Wood are in charge.
