SULPHUR -- Graveside rites for Thelma Barger, 82, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Palmer Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Brady officiating.
Born May 1, 1918, in Mill Creek to Virgil and Bertha Quinton Garrison, she died March 10, 2001, in Sulphur. She married Homer Barger on Feb. 4, 1938, in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1999. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Nolan and Herman Garrison, and two sisters, Velma McDonald and Edna Audrey.
Mrs. Barger lived all of her life in the Mill Creek and Sulphur area. She attended school at Frisco. She was a housewife and a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Leonia Barger, Sulphur; one son, James Barger, Sulphur; two sisters, Bessie Copeland, Sulphur, and Fay Rail, Mill Creek; two brothers, Troy Garrison, Shawnee, and Gary Garrison, McAlester; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
