Karen Sue Smith Caldwell, 49 of Pineville, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Pineville Community Health Care. She was born in Pineville on November 8, 1972, a daughter of the late Elmer Lee Smith, Sr. and Ollie Smith Stewart. Karen had been a commercial and local farmer.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Lynn Smith; step-father, Vernon Stewart; and father-in-law, Floyd Caldwell.
Karen is survived by her husband, Marvin Caldwell; son, Dustin Napier; stepson, Justin Caldwell; grandchild, Skylar Michelle Napier; mother, Ollie Smith Stewart; sister, Nora Liford and husband, Denny; brothers, Joey Smith and wife Mona, and Elmer Lee Smith, Jr. and wife, Jennifer; brother-in-law, Terry Caldwell; mother-in-law, Wanda Caldwell; special friend, Wendy Ogan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Karen's Oncologist, Dr. Michael Bidros.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Jackson and Rev. Jeff Baker presiding. Burial followed in the Big Jim Cemetery in Arjay with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family received friends on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Caldwell Family.022
