He married Irene Sturgell in 1936. They had a total of 7 children. Only 5 survived to adulthood.
Dad was a machinist for 36 years at Ashland Auto Parts in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.
He served as a Fireman 2C in the United States Navy, during WWII, stationed in the Phillipine Islands.
Dad loved music and singing.
