Lonnie Graham passed away peacefully at his home on May 2, 2022.

Lonnie was a strong man with striking blue eyes and blond hair, born on October 29, 1937. He was born in Savannah, Ga, a son of the late Jobie and Louise Crosby Graham. Lonnies siblings include three brothers, David Graham of Pooler, Sam Graham of Portal, GA and Gerald Graham of Portal , GA; one sister, Marie Bargeron of Statesboro, GA.

Lonnie grew up around Savannah Ga, a city known as the most haunted city in America.

Lonnie served his country in the United States Army, traveling all over the world, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. He was also stationed in Bamburg, Germany, where in 1967, he met this love of his life, Renate Wolf. Lonnie and Renate were married in her home town of Bamburg in 1971. They returned to the states where they eventually bought their forever home in Hephzibah Ga.

After his retirement from the military, he worked as a maintenance manager for an apartment complex, retiring a second time. Lonnie was quite accomplished in the art of wood crafting. He built all the cabinets in their forever home and was quick to help his neighbors with their projects as well. Lonnie was the kind of neighbor everyone would love to have. Even though, always willing to be helpful, Lonnie was a very private person, warming to strangers slowly. His entire world revolved around the love of his life, Renate. Married for 51 years, and still happy and more in love with each other, they are now spending eternity together.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Lumpkin Road, Augusta. Friends invited.
