Amber E. Young, 64, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home September 28, 2019. She was born July 29, 1955 in Sherman the daughter of Ralph and Virginia (Thayer) Sprague.
Amber attended schools in Sherman and University of Maine Augusta and graduated with a BA in Social Services, she was employed as a Social Worker with KidsPeace. Amber and Richard ran the USMCR Toys for Tots program in Bangor for 10 years. She was a Medic in the Army National Guard.
She is survived by her husband Richard "Skip" Young; a son Arnold E. Splan Jr., (Lisa) stepdaughter Jessica Wellington (Rhett) and stepson Richard O. Young III (Jessie).; sisters, Elaine Nielander (Bob), Cindy Jones of, Phyllis Wolf (Tom), Linda Albert (Raymond); brothers Danny Sprague (Judee), Christopher Sprague; 9 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Dennis Lockwood, Tim Lockwood, Gerald Lockwood; sister Annie Sprague King; and a devoted and loving dog Shadow.
