Daughter of Elvester Vance Kimbrel and Nell Wethington Kimbrel. She retired from the General Services Department of the Pentagon which provided service to all branches of the U.S. mlitary except for the Department of the Army. She was a longtime member of Saint Jude's Church in Walterboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, E V Kimbrel, Jr. and Clarence Carlton "Sam" Kimbrel*; and sister, Helen Kimbrel Avant. Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia Hudson Lucas and her husband, Charles of Walterboro; two grandchildren, Heather Lucas Lambros and her husband, Nicholas of Dutch Island near Savannah, GA, and Holly Lucas Mardell and her husband, Matthew of Walterboro; six great grandchildren, Madison Leigh Lucas, Lucas Lambros, Sophia Lambros, Landon Lambros, Townsend Mardell, and Evangeline Clare Mardell; sister, Myrna Kimbrel Hanlon of Charleston; and two nephews and a niece.
