Curt was born in Yuba City, CA on November 14, 1950 to Ronald Dean Higgins and Bernice Laree Sliger. He attended community college in Marysville, CA. He had a variety of jobs including pest control, radio station manager, mobile home, car and phone sales, and retail management; most recently working for Hardin True Value. He was blessed with being able to retire in 2016. He married Debbie Cabral, a city mail carrier, and the love of his life.

Curt was a devoted father and an avid gardener. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, shooting, and travel. His latest hobby and favorite pastime was 4-wheeling with friends and family while enjoying the great outdoors. He was also a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house. Curt was an extremely kind man who always found the positive in people. He was always the quiet observer and the rock of his family, holding everyone together. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, co-workers and all who knew him.

Curt is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debbie, his 8 children; his 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Bernice, and his 2 brothers, Ronald and Dan (Diane); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandparents, his father, Ronald Dean, his 2 sisters Connie and Denise, his sister-in-law Gina and his brother-in-law Ed.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends in Downieville, CA, next summer where Curt and his family have many favorite memories together.
