On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, Melissa "Missy" Anne Kirby of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully. Loving wife of the late Daniel John Kirby. Beloved Mother of Amy L. Freshwater and her husband Shawn and Angela L. Medley and her husband Anthony and the late Alison L. Kirby. Devoted Grandmother of Kayla, Jayden, Jazmine and Nevaeh. Daughter of Mildred E. Kearney and the late Melvin S. Kearney. Sister of Ruth Ludington, Evelyn Webb and Terri Groves. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Missy had an undeniable spark that could not go unnoticed. She was a dedicated Mom and an even more involved Grandmother who always enjoyed being with her grandkids. From sleepovers, to attending all of their sporting events and school functions, if the kids had an event, she was there. She loved teaching them how to cook and doing crafts together. Her love of children continued into her work as an Aide in first Hilltop Elementary and then Glen Burnie Park Elementary. In those quiet moments alone, she loved to read and do puzzles, and watch her all time favorite show The Golden Girls. One of her favorite activities was playing Bingo at the local fire hall. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, whether they were going to happy hour or having a paint night where she could express her creativity. Missy's talent and creativity are shown through her paintings and crafts. She will be deeply missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 Second Avenue, SW, (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm where a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International, 4330 E.
