Jeannette "Betty" Joyce Jeffords McDaniel Hall Miloch on March 17, 2022 and left us at the well-lived age of 90. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother,
She was born on August 28, 1931 in Jacksonville, Florida, and a daughter to the late Reppard and Jeannette Jeffords of Waycross, Georgia ; also preceded by her sister Joan Conley, her brother-in-law Corky Conley, and her sister Sandra Bell.
Also deceased are her daughters Susie Hall Redican and Brenda Mc Daniel Williams, her grandson John Michael Blevins, and her former husbands Rudolph McDaniel, Gordon Hall and Gerald Miloch.
had three daughters: Betty, Joan Conley (Corky), and Sandra Bell (Billy Bell-Aldridge).
In her late teens and early twenties Betty enjoyed playing the organ in her church. She worked in the cigar factory. In her mid- and late twenties she ran the family business selling bricks to builders in central Florida and doing the bookkeeping. She also enjoyed playing the piano for her young children. During her next twenty-plus years she was a military wife, with assignments in Florida, Hawaii, and North Dakota. Her husband Jerry was assigned overseas during the Vietnam War and Betty was left to care for the household along with seven children.
Betty was unable to graduate high school herself; she only made it to the tenth grade, which is why she was so passionate, determined and insistent that her (by then) eight children would finish high school and perhaps become even college or vocational graduates. She attended graduations with pride.
Our mom was employed in numerous retail jobs. She loved interaction with her customers and in her later years she shared joy and compassion with many she met. Mom enjoyed her large family throughout her life. She shared amazing stories, photos, the family tree and history with anyone willing to listen. She made great lemon meringue pies and banana pudding. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful shawls for her children and grandchildren. She was always ready for a casino trip or a lottery ticket.
Through our years with Mom she taught us patience, perseverance, and generosity. In any large family, there are good and bad times, illnesses and crises. Betty experienced them all. We didn't always agree but we enjoyed the gift of love and forgiveness.
She will be profoundly missed by her surviving children: Linda McDaniel Domingo (Larry) of Wahiawa, Oahu; Thelma Joyce Hall Blevins (Kathy) of Monterey, California; Paul Hall (Pam) of Cape Coral, Florida; Jeannie Hall Brantley (Rick Thrasher) of Ft. Pierce, Florida; John Miloch (Brandy) of Cape Coral, Florida; and Melody Miloch Bitting (Greg) of Ft. Myers, Florida. Her loss is also felt by twenty grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty will be laid to rest in her hometown of Waycross, Georgia on April 9, 2022 at Kettle Creek Cemetery. Public viewing and services will begin at 10:00am at Miles-Odum Funeral Home in Waycross, Georgia. Because Betty suffered with Congestive Heart Failure and her greatest love of all was babies and children, the family is requesting any donations be sent to The American Heart Association or to the March of Dimes in the name of Betty Miloch.
