Elsie Mae (Massey) Acord, left this world on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Rita Wix of Fairdale, WV.
She was born January 20, 1933 at Slab Fork. She was the daughter of Lula Esther Acord and Pink Massey who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Simon Paul Acord and her beloved husband, Samuel Austin Acord.
She is survived by her two children, Dwaine Acord and wife, Carolyn of Lester and Rita and her husband, Jesse Wix of Fairdale; grandchildren, Garie Joe Shrewsbury and wife, Jennifer of Florida, Cathy Criddle and husband, Reginald of Glen Morgan, Dana Quickle of Tornado, WV, Jessica Wix and fiancé Timmothy Taylor of Lester, and Megan Acord of Beckley; great grandchildren, Cade and Carly Quickle, Holt and Hunter Criddle, Megan E., Emily, and Melanie Shrewsbury. She is also survived by four brothers, Lacy Massey and wife, Nola, Junior Massey and wife, Jayne, Sherman Acord and wife, Barbara, Harless Acord and wife, Beverly of Michigan, and a sister, Linda Gray and husband, James of Glen View; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Services will be 1:00PM Saturday, December 16, 2012 at Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia with Rev. Allen Terry officiating. Following the services, she will be laid to rest at the Acord Mountain Cemetery in Slab Fork, WV.
Timmothy Taylor, Lendy and Mike Acord, Holt Criddle, Cade Quickle, and Gary Riley will be serving as pallbearers.
