Hiers was born July 5, 1909 in Kingston, the daughter of Walter and Maude Humble Haley. She married Emmett Hiers, and he preceded her in death Feb.l 1, 1957. She was employed at the Ross Point Truck Stop, before illness forced her retirement. She was a member of the Sandusky Methodist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Russell Haley, New Point, and Floyd Haley, New Paris, Ohio; and one sister, Louise Henrick, Greensburg.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Loraine.l
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Seaney officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
