Phillip Anthony "Ampo" Smith, Sr., 63, passed away on December 3, 2021 at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born on October 29, 1958.

Ampo confessed his life to Christ at an early age. He attended Pine Bluff High & Merrill. As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Army. Throughout his life he worked several jobs including the Cotton Belt Railroad, Pine Bluff School District, & the Katy School District in Katy Texas, where he worked as a bus driver for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Smith and Grace Mae Smith; and his brother, Henry Smith, Sr.

Ampo is survived by four children: Tomekka Smith of Houston, TX, Phillip Smith, Jr. of Little Rock, AR, Manesia Smith of Pine Bluff, AR, and Andre Turner of Pine Bluff, AR; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sisters: Dauphine Holloway of Little Rock, AR, Evelyn Mayweather (Guy) of Pine Bluff, AR, Phyllis Nelson (Antonial) of Pine Bluff, AR, and Nadine Marshall of Pine Bluff, AR; his brother, Darrel Smith (Kelly) of Cypress, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral services will be held in New Community Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, AR with Pastor Omar Davis officiating. The internment services will be held at Forrest Lawn Cemetery Pine Bluff, AR.
