Irvine - George Burnis Oliver, 87, of Wisemantown, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at the Pattie A. Clay Infirmary, Richmond, after a short illness. He was a retired blacksmith and a member of the Wisemantown Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Diana Hisle Oliver; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard Riddle, Wisemantown, Mrs. Charles Riddle, Newport, and Mrs. Jay Winkler, Anderson, Ind.; a son, Roy Oliver, Middletown, Ind.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Bertha Blanton, Irvine, and Mrs. Drucilla Abner, Winchester; three half-brothers, Sidney Oliver, Wisemantown; Edward Oliver, Madison County, and Woodrow Oliver, Irvine; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wisemantown Methodist Church by the Rev. James E. Wilson. Burial will be in the West Irvine Cemetery. The body is at the Cox Funeral Home
