Gail Tressa Lawrence, age 74, of Bellevue, passed away on September 19, 2021, at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on February 17, 1947, in Takoma Park, Maryland; the daughter of Dale and Linnaea (Erickson) Perkins. Gail was previously employed as a secretary for the Battle Creek Adventist Hospital, then for the City of Battle Creek, where she retired after 18 years of service. She was a member of the Battle Creek Tabernacle. Gail was a selfless woman who was always concerned for others unto the very end. She enjoyed bird watching, her flowers and gardens, rides on their UTV, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known for her wonderful desserts, and also loved a good meal – taking very deliberate bites. Described by many as an angel on Earth, the light shining through her, with a big smile and contagious laugh. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ruth Ann Boyd. Gail was united in marriage on November 9, 2006, to John Lawrence. Also survived by her children Jim (Heidi) Laser of Kalamazoo and Krista (Todd) Quakenbush of Bellevue, her sisters Eva Cloud of South Bend, IN, and Karen Mitchell of Battle Creek, and a grandson Riley Quakenbush of Evans, GA. Gail was additionally blessed to have many brothers- and sisters-in-law that cherished her, as well as an expansive extended family. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Private graveside service will occur at Assyria Cemetery with Pastor Rob Benardo of the Battle Creek Tabernacle officiating. Please join the family in celebrating the life of Gail Lawrence on Monday, September 27th at 2:45 p.m. with a luncheon to be held at the Battle Creek Tabernacle, 264 W. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
