James Phillip Powell, 45, of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away and entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 19, 2022.
Born in Charlottesville, Virginia on November 16, 1976, son of Raymond Ed Powell and the late Barbara Woods Powell. Phillip attended and graduated from United Christian Academy. After graduating he became owner and operator of Preferred Tile, Pastor of First Bible Baptist Church, and Administrator of United Christian Academy.
Although his time was short in this life, he left everlasting memories that will be cherished for a lifetime by his wife of 27 years, Karrie Powell and his children; Thomas, Leah Knight (Satchel), Jordan and Drew.
Phillip loved encouraging, coaching, touching, and changing young lives for over 25 years. As time takes away the tears and sadness may the wonderful memories of Phillip remain in your heart forever. He will be remembered as a son, husband, father, nephew, grandson, uncle, friend, mentor, coach, pastor, leader, provider, and protector but most importantly a Child of God.
Phillip had the most tender heart, infectious smile, and a very giving heart. His life interest included; coaching, hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
He impacted many lives and made footprints on the hearts of many. He leaves a special mark on this earth through his faithfulness and fellowship. May you find peace in knowing that the promise of salvation is everlasting.
A private graveside service was held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Stanardsville Cemetery in Stanardsville, Virginia, officiated by Jordan Deane.
