Raised in Southern California where he attended Seaside High School, he played collegiate football at Long Beach State University. During this period, he became one of the school's all time greats. Selected by the Philadelphia Eagles during the 10th round of the 1976 NFL Draft, he totaled 28 career regular season games. After retiring from football, he went on to serve as a pastor at a Philadelphia church.
