Paul, age 91, passed away in the house he built on his farm near Eudora. He was the son of Raymond Walter and Pearl Ina (Dalton) Heitzman. He graduated from Wyandotte (KS) High School in 1949, Baylor University in 1953 with a bachelor of art degree in History and Religion, and the University of Kansas in 1967 with a master of art degree in History. He served in the US Army as a signal message clerk with the 40th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade in Yokohama, Japan and taught history at Topeka High School, Shawnee Mission West High School, and Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. He married Marilyn Kay Stidham on April 12, 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Allene Ray Heitzman and Madeline Troyer, and his daughter, Patricia Ann Heitzman. He is survived by his wife, his children, Richard Heitzman and Sally Johnson, and seven grandchildren. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held September 24, 2022, at Hesper Friends Church. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery.
