Actor and Director. As an actor in Russia he may be best remembered for his role in the Russian films "Simple Things" from 2007, a comedy that he starred in and "How I Ended This Summer" from 2010, a drama that won numerous awards. He began his studies at the Saratov Drama School, after which he went active duty with the Soviet Navy. After leaving active duty he continued his studies at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts where he graduated in 2001. He was also a well know theatrical director at several theaters in the area that included Magnitogorsk Drama Theatre (2003-2007) and Russian State Academic Drama Theater (2009-2010). His first role in the motion picture industry came in 2003 in "The Stroll" a Russian drama. Some of the other films and television series he appeared in included "Aptekar", "Moy paren - Angel", "Witness protection", "Metro", "Godfather", "The Icebreaker" and "Krylya nad Berlinom". In 1999, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation for his role in the drama "How I Spent This Summer" and received the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2010. The film "Simple Things" brought him the "Kinotavr" award in 2007and the "Nika" award in 2008. In 2018, he received the Golden Eagle Award for his role in the TV series "And in Our Yard" that aired from 2012 until 2014. He died in an automobile accident.
