DELAVAN – Carole Joan Hessner, age 82, of Delavan passed away on September 16, 2022 at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa. She was born in Dodgeville, WI on November 8, 1939 to Harold and Dorothy (Reichling) Pittz. Carole was a dedicated student graduating with honors from both Dodgeville High School in 1957 and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1961. After completion of her bachelor degree, Carole worked as a teacher in Rockford IL and Delavan WI, as well as an author of children's stories. In addition to her passion for working with children, she was an avid reader and an outstanding gardener. Carole was a devoted wife, a caring and dedicated mother, and an amazing and affectionate grandmother. Carole is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Erich Hessner; and her sister Janet Hess. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan.
