Robert Druie King was born October 30, 1948 in Fletcher, Oklahoma To Mary Etta (Hutson) and Robert Lamont King. He passed away May 13, 2022 at his home in Merritt, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 13 days.
Robert grew up in Garber, Oklahoma, Great Bend, Kansas and graduated from high school in Fayette, Missouri in 1966. After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam era. After his discharge in 1969, he moved to Enid, Oklahoma where he worked at a gas station, drove a truck for RC Cola and also drove trucks with his father. He was married to Sharlyn (Trekell) September 2, 1972 and during this union they raised two sons, Jason and Russell. Robert later obtained employment with C-E Natco where he began his career in the oil and natural gas industry. He later worked for Energy Oil Field Supply out of Woodward, Oklahoma before returning to C-E Natco and eventually Coughlin Equipment where he retired after 45 years. Robert also liked bowling in his younger years and was very active in being a sponsor for Alcoholic Anonymous and watching westerns on TV.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sister, Paula Brooks, Jamie King, and Donna Decker.
Robert is survived by his sons, Jason King and wife, Vicky, Oro Valley, AZ and Russell King and wife, Ja'Cinda, Elk City, OK; 4 grandchildren; sister, Patsy Phee, South Carolina; brother, Eddie King and wife, Carol, Enid, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
