Carlotta married Richard Cohrs while both were serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII and lived in Honolulu, Hawaii five years, during which time she gave birth to her two sons.
She had a great passion for singing and sang all her life in the church choir and the Sweet Adelines barbershop singing society. She also had a tremendous love of dogs as was evident by her five Springer Spaniels.
Carlotta was quite artistic and was employed by the Fresno County School District as a graphic artist for their publications.
In 1976 She married Rick Smith.
Carlotta was preceded in death by Richard Cohrs and Rick Smith.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick and Peter Cohrs; grandson, Brandon Cohrs and his wife April; her granddaughters, Erin Chelius and her husband Craig, Jenny Cohrs, and Tiffany Cohrs; and her great-grandson, Caden Chelius.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Fresno on Friday, February 3, 2012, at 3:00 pm.
Remembrances may be offered to Peace Lutheran Church; or Optimal Hospice.
