Mary E. Cooksey married William F. Kennedy 24 Oct 1850, in Walton Co., GA, but she died a little over a year later, on 21 Nov 1851. About 3 years later, W.F. Kennedy married her sister, Josephine J. Cooksey, on 15 Apr 1855, in Newton Co., GA.

Neither of these sisters married Noah Marion Harris. He married the youngest Cooksey daughter, Catharine A. Cooksey (b. 24 Mar 1839; d. 26 Aug 1861) on 27 Apr 1854.

The graves of Mary E. Cooksey, Catharine A. Cooksey, and James Thomas Kennedy (son of W.F. Kennedy & Josephine C. Kennedy) are in a small family plot in Loganville, GA, my home town. It's right downtown behind a small parking lot and a barber shop. I grew up in this little town and never knew it was there! Also in thie plot are the graves of Catharine Cooksey Harris and Noah Marion Harris, and the graves of William Wilkerson Cooksey and Jane Cooksey, parents of the Cooksey girls, and grandparents of James Thomas Kennedy.

Catherine and Noah Marion Harris have a joint monument, an obelisk (broken off) that would have been over 7 feet high. Catherine is described on it as "Consort of Col. N.M. Harris of LaGrange, GA, and youngest daughter of Judge W.W. and Jane Cooksey." Mary Eliza Cooksey Kennedy is described on her stone slab as "Consort of Maj. Wm. F. Kennedy" and "Eldest daughter of Col. W.W. and Jane Cooksey."

I have been trying to find out more about William F. Kennedy, but haven't gotten very far. I'd appreciate any info on any of the above-named people! Jane Cooksey was Jane Hammond or Hammons, and my greatgrandmother was Eliza Caldonia Hammons, daughter of John J. Hammons and Elizabeth Rambo Hammons, all of Loganville, Walton Co., GA.

I'll be glad to share any further information I have, but I don't have a lot. I do have photos of this little family cemetery, though.
