Born at Bendolba near Dungog, the son of Frederick and Alice Thompson, grandson of Henry Edwards and Lydia Henwood. Percy’s family were living in McIntosh St, Gordon when he enlisted. After Percy was killed in action in France, his parents moved to a new residence in Gordon Rd, now the Pacific Hwy, which they dubbed 'Percy-ville'. They included a memorial to their son on their grave.
