He worked as a Machine Operator with the Georgia-Pacific Corporation for 44 years, having retired in 2011. Mr. Jeffers was of the Baptist faith and attended Extra United Methodist Church. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting and crappie fishing. An avid college sports fan, he especially loved watching Arkansas Razorback football, basketball, and baseball. Mr. Jeffers was a true friend to all who knew him and was always there to lend a hand to those in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Jeffers; a brother, Johnny Jeffers; a niece, Myra Fry; a sister-in-law, Sherry Stanley Jeffers, and a brother-in-law, Monty Fry.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vanice A. Dew Jeffers; a daughter, Angela Fratesi, both of Hamburg; two sons, Kenneth Jeffers and wife, Christina, of Shipman, Illinois and Steven Jeffers and fiancée, Sarah Rossini, of Lake Village; his mother, Bonita Fairchild Jeffers of Hamburg; two brothers, James Jeffers and Larry Jeffers both of Fountain Hill; three sisters, Jeanette Jones and husband, Jimmy, of Fountain Hill, Mary Ivey and husband, Charles, and Virginia Bowman and husband, Bobby of Hamburg; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Slaughter Jeffers, of Hamburg; nine grandchildren, Dakota Fletcher, Meghan Fletcher, Jason Fratesi, Destiny Fratesi, Amelia Peoples, Diomanic Peoples, Joseph Grant Jeffers, Addison Annette Jeffers and Calleigh Savannah Jeffers; one great-granddaughter, Chloe, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the Extra Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Hogan, James Austin, David Farmer, J.W. Martin, and Bryan Hall.
