James Stewart Robinson
May 29, 1950 - July 17, 2022
James Stewart Robinson, 72, of Zionsville, IN, was born in Dansville, NY on May 29, 1950 to Richard and Jean Robinson. He passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

He spent his childhood in Grafton, VT and Westfield, NJ before attending the University of Vermont where he met the love of his life, Patty Monahan.

"Robby" and Patty were married on July 6, 1974 and lived in New Jersey and Connecticut before moving to Atlanta, GA where their first daughter, Kelly, was born. After three years in Georgia, the family moved to Salt Lake City, UT where their second daughter, Chelsea, was born. In 1989, the family moved to Zionsville, IN where they established roots and created lifelong friendships.

Robby started working for Genuine Parts Company in 1975, and he was with the company for 30 years before enjoying an early retirement at age 55.

Robby enjoyed 25 years of riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, including trips to visit every county seat in Indiana. After selling his motorcycle, Robby transitioned to riding his bicycle 10 miles a day regularly. He frequented the shooting range, the golf course, and Chelsea's farm where he liked to meticulously manicure the fields. He faithfully attended his grandchildren's sporting events where his presence will be sorely missed on the sidelines. Robby was an avid reader who studied history and enjoyed a steady diet of The Great Courses of The World. He and Patty took many memorable vacations during retirement, including an annual vacation on Lake Michigan with the whole family, and spending the month of February each year on Hilton Head Island. He was a master of spreadsheets, organization, and financial planning for family members. He never shied away from voicing his opinion, asking the hard questions, and giving his unsolicited advice! He "checked in" with Kelly and Chelsea most days to stay present in their lives and to keep the families connected. Robby was the family patriarch who always made sure his girls were loved, happy, and secure.

Robby is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; daughters Kelly (Scott) Spencer and Chelsea (Kyle) Roth of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren Cassidy, Luke, and Tyler Spencer and Griffin, Holden, Cameron, and Finley Roth; sisters Jill and Cathy Robinson of Walpole, NH, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
